Google GPS – Hurts Garmin and TomTom

‘Investors fled GPS-makers’ shares today after Google announced it would offer free turn-by-turn GPS directions in its Android phones and as a service for other mobile phones, like Apple’s iPhone.

I’ve mixed feels on this, its a great service and arguably its just a case of the product and business sector evolving, but I cant help feeling a little concerned about the Big G’s market domination of all things digital.  That said, its hard to compete with ‘USEFUL’ and ‘FREE’ in the same package.
