Musings of a Badger

If only everything in life was as reliable as a Volkswagen…

I met up with my old boss today and we went for a spin in his latest toy, a rather magnificent Aston Martin DBS (read DB9 but even sillier).  As its a less than frugal thing we pulled into a garage for a top up, when ‘whoaa!’ an aging VW reverses into the front of his supercar.  Now that wasn’t good, but what was, is that whilst climbing into the car I’d randomly turned on my iPhones recorder app.  The moment is now captured forever (as is the pic above).  Fly on the wall insight into whats said when a 1k car hits a 160k+ car.  I’ve mashed up a video below to give the recording some context, *volume required and parental advisory on language.  Thankfully the damage was minor.

TinEye – Reverse image search engine

Posted in Digital, Photos, Search by musingsofabadger on January 6, 2009

An unnamed client once asked me ‘why should I pay for an image for an ad campaign, can’t you just get it free off the web? No one will ever know!’.  Now I’m speculating here but in these times where pennies are being pinched, I can imagine this is a conversation that isn’t unfamiliar to agency folk.  Next time it happens – send them a link to this site:

To quote the company: ‘TinEye is a reverse image search engine. You can submit an image to TinEye to find out where it came from, how it is being used, if modified versions of the image exist, or to find higher resolution versions. TinEye is the first image search engine on the web to use image identification technology rather than keywords, metadata or watermarks’.  Nice.
